Indya was first established in January 2015 and is the stage name of rock artist and songwriter Laudez Rose.
Laudez trained in music at the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology and then furthered her musical vocational training at Collins Performing Arts College in Romford, Essex. Indya (meaning "gorgeous person") promised a wild and glamorous rock band. After being told she had a very good rock voice, Laudez decided to form Indya in an exciting bid to enter the rock circuit with all guns blazing—and that she did!
Her first ever gig was supporting Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds at the O2 Academy Liverpool in his aftershow party. Noel had heard about Laudez through the grapevine and handpicked her among other bands to perform. On her travels, she drove a bus with all her musicians from Brighton to Liverpool and back, getting stopped and breathalysed twice in one night by two different sets of police vans.
Soon after, Laudez went on to perform for other huge artists such as Toploader, Republica, Space, Gun, UB40, The SoapGirls, SHVPES, and Velvet Insane (just to name a few!). She’s also played at major festivals/events such as Camden Rocks, Weyfest, Heaven & Hell Fest, BBC Live, Call of the Wild, RAH Fest, Local & Live Tunbridge Wells, and hundreds more.
Over the past seven years, Indya has toured the UK three times and accompanied other acts on their tours, such as Velvet Insane and The SoapGirls, while releasing multiple singles and EPs and accumulating a large and loyal fanbase.
Indya’s music is rock with a punky, playful edge, influenced by the likes of artists such as Madonna, Enigma, Van Halen, Pat Benatar, Chase & Status, The Prodigy, Marilyn Manson, Bring Me the Horizon, and Def Leppard.
She released the album "Rebel Music" in 2021 with hits such as "Love Like Champagne" and "Sadness", made alongside producer Dave Needham. She then made a comeback in 2022 with a string of successful singles, including "I Wanna Be the One", "Raise Ya Vibration," and "Little Crush," which were made with producer Richard Burton. These built up to the release of her most anticipated album, "Leather n Lace," which introduced more hits like "Too Goth to Handle" as well as the title track.
Released in May 2023, this album has already won the hearts of many radio stations, including Kerrang!, BBC Radio Kent, and TotalRock, which have all played a variety of its songs. Indya has subsequently also been featured in many leading rock magazines, such as Prog, Fireworks, Power, and Heavy. The album was launched with an in-store gig at HMV Tunbridge Wells and will be followed by upcoming shows at Call of the Wild Fest and Priory Live Festival.
